Albert L. Lu Lopez, MD, PhD

Albert Lu is an MD/PhD scientist with a career path that spans more than 20 years of involvement and achievement in research. Over the course of his scientific career, Dr. Lu has acquired multidisciplinary expertise in molecular cell biology, biochemistry, RNA biology and genomics, with a special focus on membrane trafficking and the biology of extracellular vesicles (EV). His training has been carried out in prestigious research institutions around the world, including Stanford University and Kyoto University.

Recently, Dr. Lu has spearheaded projects that involve the use of advanced genome-editing techniques for globally investigating different aspects of EV biology. He is currently a senior research scientist at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) in Barcelona. He has authored 15 high-impact journal publications, including a number on which he is the first and co-corresponding author.
