Anna R. Gagliardi, PhD

Dr. Anna Gagliardi is a scientist at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute and an associate professor at the University of Toronto. Her background includes a Masters in Biochemistry, a Master of Library Science, and a Bachelor of Education. She held a five-year Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator salary award in Knowledge Translation from 2008 to 2013. Her research explores factors that influence the organization and delivery of health services, and evaluates strategies that optimize health care quality. Dr. Gagliardi’s research focuses on guideline implementation and, in particular, the development and evaluation of guideline implementation tools, and how they support decision-making, performance improvement and person-centered care. She has published over 90 articles as principal or senior author in peer-reviewed journals, and has administered $2.5 million in peer-reviewed research funding. She is chair of the Guidelines International Network Implementation Working Group.
