Cristina Januário received her degree in medicine in 1976 from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. She has specialized in movement disorders and has actively pursued clinical trials on Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease. She is one of the principal investigators of the European Huntington’s Disease Network. She is an assistant professor for neurology at the University of Coimbra and since 2001, she has been head of the Movement Disorders unit of the neurology department.
