Doug Davies, PhD

Doug Davies received his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000, and then completed post-doctoral studies with Dr. Wim Hol at the University of Washington. Both his Ph.D. and post-doctoral work have been focused on X-ray crystallography of proteins and protein-nucleic acid complexes. In 2005, Doug joined deCODE biostructures as a Senior Research Scientist. In addition to managing client based and internal gene to structure projects, Doug is in charge of the development of a screening library for fragment based drug discovery. Doug has published 11 peer reviewed papers and is responsible for 14 structures in the Protein Data Bank (PDB) including the "Molecule of the Month" for December, 2006, Tn5 Transposase.
