Gonzalo J. Revuelta, DO, MS

Associate Professor and SmartState Endowed Chair in Neurodegenerative Diseases at Murray Center for Research in Parkinson's Disease and Related Disorders

Gonzalo Revuelta has a DO in medicine from the School of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed a residency in neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and a fellowship in movement disorders at Emory University in Atlanta. His primary research focus is the development of neuromodulation therapies for freezing of gait (FOG) in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Now an associate professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Dr. Revuelta directs the MUSC Murray Center for Research in Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders. In addition to his work developing and optimizing novel neuromodulation interventions, Dr. Revuelta has an interest in establishing a comprehensive PD registry in South Carolina that will facilitate population level research and recruitment of individuals for studies and clinical trials.
