Ian James Douglas, PhD, is a pharmacoepidemiologist with a MSc in epidemiology (University of London) and a BSc and PhD in Physiology (University of Manchester) and is currently funded by a Medical Research Council Methodology Fellowship. Dr. Douglas is interested in the use of large primary care databases to investigate the effects of drugs – both harmful and beneficial, and he is exploring methodologies to minimize some of the biases inherent in the research of drug effects.
