Johannes Levin is chief medical officer of MODAG and a full professor of clinical neurodegeneration and head of the outpatient clinic for neurodegenerative diseases at Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) in Munich. He continues to exercise these responsibilities at a 50% capacity-rate. He also serves as deputy head of clinical research at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Munich. Dr. Levin studied medicine at LMU, Universidad de Granada (Spain) and Harvard Medical School (Cambridge, MA, USA), and he holds a Doctor of Medicine from the LMU. He is a board-certified neurologist at the Bavarian Chamber of Physicians and has published more than 250 scientific papers. His work has contributed to defining the natural history and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Levin served as principal investigator in many clinical studies, including the largest interventional Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) trial in Germany and international cohort studies such as the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network (DIAN).
