Judith Stegmüller, PhD, received her degree in neurobiology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. She pursued graduate training in the Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology Program of the University of Heidelberg. Dr. Stegmüller moved to the United States for post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and was awarded a stipend from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Charles A. King Trust/Bank of America fellowship. She was selected for a junior principal investigator position at the Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine in Göttingen where her research focuses on E3 ligases and their role in neurodevelopment and degeneration.
