Kim Delbaere, PhD, is a principal research scientist at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA), and associate professor at University of New South Wales, Sydney. Dr. Delbaere is a leading international researcher in the area of accidental falls in older people. Her research has contributed to the understanding of physical, psychological and cognitive factors causing falls. Dr. Delbaere's multidisciplinary approach incorporates elements from physiotherapy, psychology, brain imaging and software engineering toward preventing falls and promoting healthy aging. Dr. Delbaere earned a master's degree in rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy and a doctorate from the Ghent University in Belgium.
