Marjan J. Meinders, PhD

Doctor at Radboud University Medical Center

Location: Nijmegen Netherlands

Dr. Marjan Meinders is trained as a health scientist. The central theme in her research is the role of the patient in creating person-centered care. Patients can add important value to the care process and to their own health. However, most patients need help with this. In her research, Dr. Meinders develops and tests different ways to provide that support such as by means of decision aids or ehealth application that support the communication and information exchange between doctors, nurses, patients and their families. A specific focus within her research is the application of remote monitoring systems in Parkinson’s patients to promote person-centered care, support self-management, empower patients and to generate input for clinical decision support systems.
