Monty Silverdale, MD, PhD

Dr. Silverdale is a consultant neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease (PD) and movement disorders. He trained in Manchester, Queen Square and Toronto. Along with several colleagues, he runs a complex PD and movement disorder service at the Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre; this service covers a population of around 3 million people. Dr. Silverdale also runs the Greater Manchester Deep Brain Stimulation program.

Dr Silverdale holds an honorary senior lecturer contract at the University of Manchester and he runs a very active PD and movement disorder research program, supervising several research fellows. His main research interests include non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's, as well as developing novel biomarkers in PD. He has collaborated with Professor Malik on previous studies investigating corneal confocal microscopy as a biomarker of PD.
