Dr. Seyfried a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Neurology and the Associate Director of the Emory Center for Neurodegenerative Disease (CND). With over 20 years of research training and experience, his work focuses on biochemistry, proteomics, and systems biology related to neurodegenerative diseases. He earned his doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and completed postdoctoral training in quantitative mass spectrometry and proteomics at the Emory School of Medicine. In 2011, he joined the faculty at Emory School of Medicine and has since established large-scale integrated proteomics initiatives across neurodegenerative diseases. He has served or currently serve as PI on multiple NIH-funded grants, including large consortium efforts. As of January 2025, his publications have been cited more than 18,000 times, with an h-index of 71, according to Google Scholar.
