Patrick Arsenault, PhD, is an assistant director of R&D at Progenra Inc. He received his PhD from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he investigated the biosynthesis of important anti-malarial compounds in medicinal plants. Following his doctoral work, Dr. Arsenault pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where he investigated prolyl and lysyl hydroxylases and their relationships to low oxygen conditions and proteasomal degradation. At the University of Pennsylvania, he was an inaugural recipient of a fellowship from the Brody Family Medical Trust Fund for Research in Incurable Diseases. In 2016, Dr. Arsenault joined Progenra, where he has been investigating the roles of parkin and small molecule modulators of the ubiquitin proteasome system for the treatment of neurodegeneration.
