Penelope Hallett, PhD

Dr. Penelope Hallett is assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and director of the Neuroregeneration Institute at McLean Hospital. 

Dr. Hallett received her BSc, MRes and PhD from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. In 2002 she joined the laboratory of Dr. David Standaert at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, for a postdoctoral fellowship. In 2006 Dr. Hallett joined the Neuroregeneration Institute at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Beginning with her PhD training in Parkinson’s disease modeling, her research is dedicated to work on neurodegenerative diseases, studying multiple aspects of degeneration, protection and cell therapy.

From 2007-2009, Dr. Hallett was a deputy associate editor of the European Journal of Neuroscience, and she is currently editor of Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience.
