Dr. Sameer Sheth is an Associate Professor if Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He received both his MD and PhD in neuroscience at UCLA School of Medicine, and his undergraduate degree in physics and astronomy and astrophysics was completed at Harvard University. He completed his residency and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He then joined Columbia University Medical Center as an Assistant Professor where he was a neurosurgeon and researcher at New York Presbyterian Hospital. In 2018, he joined Baylor College of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. Sheth has authored more than 80 scientific publications, including works in high-profile journals such as Nature, Journal of Neuroscience, and JAMA Psychiatry. Sheth studies the mechanisms by which the human brain solves complex problems and makes difficult decisions. Gaining this precise understanding allows him to develop new therapies for disorders such as Parkinson’s disease or epilepsy.
