Steven A Chance, PhD

Dr. Steven Chance is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Oxford Brain Diagnostics (OBD), a spin out from the University of Oxford. As a leading authority on the brain microstructure and its altered cortical anatomy in disease, Steven led the creation of Cortical Disarray Measurement (CDM), a unique platform technology for understanding changes in brain structure, while at the University of Oxford. Before leaving the University of Oxford to spin out OBD, Steven held the position of Associate Professor in Clinical Neurosciences and had more than 20 years of experience researching brain pathology. During his academic career, Steven held several positions including College Lecturer in Neurology for Medicine at Corpus Christi College, Director of Studies for Human Sciences at Wadham College, culminating in leading his own research group as Associate Professor. Steven holds a BSc in Human Sciences and a DPhil in Clinical Neuroscience focused on MRI and Neuropathology.
