Dr. Yu Chen completed his PhD at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in the Section on Intracellular Protein Trafficking. In 2004, he joined the National Human Genome Research Institute, where he is now a Staff Scientist in the Medical Genetics Branch. His research focuses on developing disease models using patient-derived cells to better understand the pathogenicity of PD risk genes and to facilitate the development disease-modifying therapeutics. His research has been recognized with various awards, including NHGRI GREAT Awards and the NCATS Director’s Award for Scientific Achievement.
