Yuanchao Xue, PhD

Professor at Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Location: Beijing China

Yuanchao Xue, PhD, received his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from Wuhan University in 2010. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine from 2010-2015. He joined the faculty of the Institute of Biophysics in 2015 and was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2020. Dr. Xue made the original discovery of PTB as a master regulator of neurogenesis in Dr. Fu's lab during his postdoctoral training. His team focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of how RNA-binding protein PTB and its paralogs control cellular reprogramming at the transcriptional level. He has developed several novel techniques for the global mapping of RNA-binding protein and non-coding RNA binding sites unbiasedly. His team recently illustrated elegant mechanisms of RNA-binding protein-mediated RNA-RNA interactions in transcriptional regulation.
