Dr. YuHong Fu is a neuroscientist at the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre. Her research is focused on uncovering pathogenic mechanisms, therapeutic targets, and early biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases, including movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy, as well as dementias. Her clinical foundation as a neurologist (2002–2005) informed her transition to research, followed by postdoctoral training in neuroanatomy (2007–2012) and neuropathology (2015–2022). She integrates spatial transcriptomics and proteomics platforms with advanced histological tools, multiplex and 3D imaging, proximity ligation assays, and AI-powered deep learning to enable high-resolution, high-throughput neuropathological investigations. She has published 58 peer-reviewed journal articles and is deeply committed to initiating and leading impactful research projects. Her dedication to mentoring is reflected in her supervision of numerous early-career researchers, Ph.D. students, and visiting scientists.
