Andrew James Zele, PhD

Prof. Zele trained in internationally renowned research laboratories at top academic institutions in Australia (University of Melbourne) and the USA (University of Chicago). He has been awarded two prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) fellowships. Zele is currently an ARC future fellow, head of the visual science laboratory in the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation and Queensland University of Technology professor of optometry and vision science, where he is a research and teaching academic. Prof. Zele is an appointed member of the ARC Medical Research Advisory Group and was a member of Australia’s national Research Evaluation Committee for the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia. He has contributed to the development of the University’s strategic and top-level plans as a nominee of the Executive Dean on the Research Degrees Committee. Prof. Zele is a member of the Lighting Council Australia working group on human centric lighting.
