Arie Nakhmani, PhD

Arie Nakhmani, PhD, received his BS, MSc and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, in 2004, 2007 and 2011, respectively. From 2011 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Boston University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Since 2013, he has been an assistant professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and associate scientist at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Nakhmani currently is working on two National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded projects, one of which is The BRAIN Initiative.

Dr. Nakmani's primary research interest is biomedical signal and image analysis, which he pursues with his graduate and undergraduate students as the director of ANRY Lab. Dr. Nakhmani is a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has authored more than 40 scientific publications.
