Jackson Schumacher is a Research Associate in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he works in the laboratory of Dr. Xiqun Chen. Mr. Schumacher earned his BS in Neuroscience from Boston College. He joined Dr. Xiqun Chen’s laboratory in 2023, first as a research student and now as a full-time research associate. His research focuses on understanding the genetic, molecular, and biomarker signatures that shape Parkinson’s disease susceptibility and progression.
Beyond his laboratory research, Mr. Schumacher serves as Project Manager for Team Chen within the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) Collaborative Research Network, helping coordinate multi-institutional efforts focused on Parkinson’s genetics, systems biology, and early-stage therapeutic discovery.
