Jeff Stehouwer, PhD is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the PET Facility in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Stehouwer is trained as a synthetic organic chemist, medicinal chemist, and PET radiochemist and has over 16 years of experience in the design, development, and pre-clinical evaluation of new carbon-11 and fluorine-18 radiolabeled PET tracers. Dr. Stehouwer’s work has pursued the development of new brain PET radiotracers focused on targets including the dopamine transporter (DAT), serotonin transporter (SERT), norepinephrine transporter (NET), CRF-1 receptor, and TrkB receptor for the study of mood and psychiatric disorders, drug addiction, and neurodegeneration.
