Dr. Jens Christian Schwamborn is a Professor of Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Luxembourg and CEO of OrganoTherapeutics. A leader in neurodegenerative disease modeling, his research focuses on Parkinson’s disease using patient-specific stem cells and innovative 3D brain organoid technology. After earning his PhD in Germany and postdoctoral training in Austria and China, he established his independent lab. His pioneering work in midbrain organoids has led to numerous high-impact publications and patents, and currently supports translational research through collaborations with industry partners. Dr. Schwamborn co-founded two biotech startups and is recognized for mentoring the next generation of scientists. Under his leadership, OrganoTherapeutics received multiple innovation awards and participates in international consortia advancing in vitro disease modeling. His interdisciplinary approach bridges fundamental neuroscience and therapeutic development to address complex brain disorders.
