Dr. Krueger is associate professor of neurology at the Department for Neurodegenerative Diseases and head of the Laboratory for Functional Neurogenomics at the Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research, University of Tuebingen, Germany. Professor Krueger studied medicine at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, and the Louis-Pasteur-University, Strasbourg, France. He obtained his clinical experience at the University Hospitals of the Ruhr-University Bochum and the Tuebingen University with focus on movement disorders and specialized in neurology in 2005. Professor Krueger is the head of the Outpatients Clinic for Deep Brain Stimulation (BrainStimNet). From 1996 to 2000 he gained his research experience as a research fellow in the Department of Molecular Human Genetics at the Ruhr-University Bochum and identified the second known mutation in the alpha-synuclein gene (Nat Genet 1998). In 2001 he became junior group leader at the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research Tuebingen. Professor Krueger received the National Research Award of the German Parkinson’s Disease Association in 2001.
