Matthias Mann is Director of the Department of Proteomics and Signal Transduction at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany. A pioneer in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, he contributed to electrospray ionization technology development and has authored nearly 1,000 publications with h-index of 282 (Google Scholar). His laboratory develops cutting-edge proteomics technologies including Deep Visual Proteomics for spatial single-cell analysis and AI-driven open-source computational tools like AlphaDIA. Within ASAP, the Mann group will use single cell and spatial proteomics combined with mass spectrometry and artificial intelligence to investigate copathologies in PD and identify markers explaining patient-to-patient variability. Mann is strongly committed to Open Science, making all proteomics data publicly available and developing open-source computational tools for the scientific community.
