Paul Davies, PhD

General Manager, MRC PPU at University of Dundee

Paul Davies oversees the operations and management of the MRC Protein Phosphorylation Unit. He is also the general manager of the MRC reagents and services operation and of the world-renowned Division of Signal Transduction Therapy at the University of Dundee. He chairs the school's commercialization group and works very closely with pharmaceutical and commercial partners to maximize the impact of the research carried out in the institution. Dr. Davies’ primary research interests have been focused on neurodegeneration, especially Parkinson’s disease, and more recently motor neuron disease. He is also involved in multiple technology development projects in the areas of drug screening and tissue modeling. He has responsibility for the scientific support staff in addition to a team of researchers whose focus is on providing scientific support to projects ongoing in the Unit. Dr. Davies’ team also works on multiple industry projects and technology development.
