On November 1, Willie Geist, MJFF Board member and anchor of NBC's Sunday Today, and his wife Christina, New York Times best-selling author and entrepreneur, were supposed to run the NYC Marathon with Team Fox. Instead, the couple completed their own challenge: the 2020 Half Geistathon. Their efforts, in honor of Willie's father Bill, who sits on MJFF's Patient Council and has lived with Parkinson's for nearly 30 years, have raised over $60,000 (and counting!).
In a recent conversation with MJFF Co-Founder Debi Brooks, Willie and Christina share how they stayed motivated throughout the process, the impact of Parkinson's disease on their family, and the role everyone can play in a cure. They also reflect on lessons learned in Michael J. Fox's new book, No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality.
Now more than ever, our community is showing up with creativity and optimism to move us closer to a world without Parkinson's disease. Before the year ends, help keep critical research driving forward. Donate HERE.
