Tatiana Foroud, PhD, is the Chair of the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Indiana University. Dr. Foroud's research is focused on the identification of variants and genes contributing to the susceptibility for common, complex genetic disorders. These include disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and alcoholism. Ongoing studies seek to identify both common and rare variants contributing to disease risk using a wide variety of analytic approaches. Dr. Foroud also leads several large biorepositories, which provide uniform collection, processing and distribution of a wide range of specimen types. 

Dr. Foroud received her PhD from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1994.
