Nick (left) and Miko Mendoza are all smiles coming through Times Square!
It was a brisk, but bright March morning last Sunday as 60 Team Fox runners made their way through Manhattan for the New York City Half Marathon. With a group comprised of seasoned racers and first-time runners alike, the team's collective efforts have raised over $78,000 in support of Parkinson's research thus far.
Among the pack were Miko and Nick Mendoza, a pair of brothers who ran in honor of their father Mark, who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. While Miko took the opportunity to add some extra training mileage for his upcoming marathon in Paris, the NYC Half was Nick's first.
"After spending most of our time training independently, having the opportunity to run the entire race together was by far our favorite part of the experience," said Miko. "It was great to do something like this with Nick and I was so proud when we crossed the finish line. We definitely felt that sense of accomplishment, and were relieved to then get to go and celebrate!"
Congratulations to all of our NYC Half Marathon team members! Be sure to check out our gallery of more images from the day's events!
