Biplop Dass, PhD

Biplob Dass, PhD, has been named as a Michael J Fox Foundation Research Fellow, under the guidance of Professor Jeffrey H. Kordower. After receiving a BSc Hons. degree in Biochemistry at Imperial College London, Biplob completed a Masters degree course in Pharmacology at King's College London. Following this, he began a PhD programme under the supervision of Professor Peter Jenner, also at King's College London. His PhD project investigated the ability of the dopaminergic trophic factor Sonic Hedgehog to reverse degeneration in animal models of Parkinson's disease. Since completing his studies, he has been working for the Golden Trust charity, examining changes in gene expression following chronic L-DOPA treatment.At the Research Center for Brain Repair, of Rush Presbyterian Medical Center, Biplob will focus his research on investigating the use of stem cells and trophic factors in models of Parkinson's disease.
