Melissa Amick received her PhD from the Clinical Psychology Program in the Department of Psychology at Boston University. Her dissertation was titled Visuospatial Deficits and Parkinson’s Disease. She received a predoctoral traineeship at the Gerontology Center at Boston University. She completed an American Psychological Association approved postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Brown University.

Dr. Amick's research interests include vision and cognition in people with Parkinson’s disease, the interaction of cognitive impairments and motor functioning in Parkinson’s disease, and the impact of visual and cognitive changes upon driving safety in neurological populations. Her research has been supported by the National Institute of Aging, National Academy of Neuropsychology Foundation, Sigma Xi, and the Clara Mayo Award from the Psychology Department at Boston University.
