Dr. Sanchez-Guajardo obtained a PhD in immunology from the Université de Paris Sud in 2005. Her thesis work, undertaken at the Pasteur Institute, concerned the role of Stat4 and Stat6 in CD4 T cell homeostasis and the role Stat6 plays in the generation of antigen specific foxp3+ regulatory cells. After completing her degree, she did a short postdoctoral training at the Curie Institute (France) where she explored the spatiotemporal regulation of TLR-7 receptor. Since 2008, she has been employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Health Science, Aarhus University (Denmark). As part of Dr. Marina Romero-Ramos’ research unit, she has focused on the dichotomy of microglia activation during development of PD in a rAAV-asyn pre-clinical model, as well as the role the adaptive immune system plays in disease progression. She is presently funded by the Lundbeck Foundation (Denmark).
