From 2011-2015, Scott Schefrin worked at Magnetar Capital and sat on the firm's Event-Driven Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Magnetar, he was a Senior Managing Director and Head of Merger Arbitrage at Cantor Fitzgerald. From 1993 to 2008, Mr. Schefrin worked at Bear Stearns where he was the global head of the Bear Stearns risk arbitrage, event-driven and capital structure arbitrage businesses since 2003.
Mr. Schefrin earned a BS in International Economic Relations from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
He previously served as Leadership Council Chairman of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research from 2009-2015 and is an Emeritus Board Member of the American Parkinson Disease Association.
The Leadership Council members are advisors and ambassadors to the Foundation providing leadership, financial support and strategic insight about how we can more effectively advance progress toward a cure.
