Dr. Aureli Soria-Frisch is an applied researcher passionate about bringing computational intelligence to the real-world with 17 years of experience at research institutions, academia and industry. He completed his PhD at the Technical University Berlin in 2005 with a DAAD-La Caixa Fellowship. Between 1996 and 2005, he worked at the Department for Security Technologies at the Fraunhofer IPK (Berlin) as a research scientist and project leader. After working for three years at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra as visiting professor and working part-time in Starlab, he joined the company with a full engagement in 2008. Dr. Soria-Frisch has worked as an R&D manager of the Neuroscience Business Unit since 2011. His research interest is focused on the fields of data and multi-sensory fusion, computational intelligence for data analysis and computer vision, machine learning for electrophysiological (electrical) signal analysis, biomarker (marker of disease activity) discovery and neuroinformatics. He has authored 13 journal papers, nine book chapters and over 55 conference papers.
