Enza Lacivita is associate professor of medicinal chemistry in the department of pharmacy-drug sciences of the University of Bari, Italy. She obtained her PhD in 2001 working on the development of new molecular probes for serotonin receptors. Since then, her research activities have been focused at the design and development of ligands for Central Nervous System receptors involved in neurological disorders, such as depression, schizophrenia and neurodegenerative diseases. For the past few years, she has been involved in several projects aimed at developing compounds that recognize the molecular targets involved in neuroinflammation. She has authored more than 100 scientific papers and has coordinated national and international research projects.
