Dr. Ivan Martinez-Valbuena is a scientific associate at the Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (University of Toronto) and at the Rossy Progresive Supranuclear Palsy Centre (Toronto Western Hospital). He has published more than 40 per-reviewed articles, and his research focuses on the use of seeding amplification assays as novel biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases and to establish a novel molecular classification of these diseases. Dr. Martinez-Valbuena serves on several research advisory committees, and he is also an active reviewer for a number of movement disorders journal. He has received numerous accolades for his research, including the 2023 Nissl price awarded by the International Society of Neuropathology to the best researcher under 35 years in the field of neuropathology.
