Dr. Shenhar Tsarfayy is a senior investigator at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and head of the Tel Aviv Medical Center Inflammation Survey (TAMCIS). She conducted her MSc and PhD studies at the Tel-Aviv University, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the Edmond & Lily Safra Center of Brain Sciences, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Prof. Hermona Soreq's lab with cooperation of Prof. Andreas Meisel lab. Her research interests are focused on the biomedical aspects of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory system and involve genomic and biochemical analyses of human cohorts and molecular biology interference tests in cultured cells and models. Her current research deals with the cholinergic regulation of inflammation at different post-transcriptional levels of gene expression, in multiple clinical models such as stroke, myocardial infarction, metabolic disorders, Parkinson's disease and dementia.
