Thomas Beach, MD, PhD

Dr. Beach received his undergraduate from the University of Victoria, Canada, and his MD and PhD degrees from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is a board certified neuropathologist, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Canada). Dr. Beach has been a senior scientist and Institute neuropathologist at the Banner Sun Health Research Institute since 1997 and is the director of the Brain and Body Donation Program and Civin Laboratory for Neuropathology.


The Brain and Body Donation Program provides a wide range of brain and body tissue for many researchers around the world.   His research focus centers on studies of pathological tissues to predict markers of disease progression in Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. The Brain and Body Donation Program and his research have been funded by multiple private and public sources including the National Institutes of Health, Arizona Biomedical Research Commission and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
