Anabel Chade, MD became interested in neurology following her father's footsteps who is a neurologist in Mendoza, Argentina. She received a medical degree from the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Medical School in Argentina in 1998. Dr. Chade continued her studies at The Hospital Francés, Centro Neurolögico in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Center of Excellence supported by the National Parkinson Foundation where she completed a four year residency training program consisting of one year of Internal Medicine and three years in Clinical Neurology. Following subspeciality as a clinical fellow in Movement Disorders under the mentorship of Oscar Gershanik, MD for two years. During this period her research interest focuses on patient care, botulinum toxin laboratory, clinical trials of new therapies for Movement disorders (subinvestigator in Sumanirole for treatment of Parkinson disease), trial about genetic factors in Parkinson disease in collaboration with Alexis Brice, MD, Salp'triere Hos'pital, Paris, France, and works especially in Tourette syndrome recruiting, evaluating patients especially in bilineal genetic transmission, participating in a collaborative epidemiological study with Roger Freeman, MD, Canada, director of the international database consortium. Further, Dr. Chade is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and of the Argentine Neurological Society. Her main interests are to participate in different lines of investigation concerning environmental factors in the pathogenesis of movement disorders, with particular interest in Parkinson's disease, and to continue in the care of clinical neurology patients. Her focus as a Michael J Fox Foundation Fellow in Neuroepidemiology at the Parkinson's Institute will be to investigate environmental and genetic determinants of Parkinson's disease, and their interaction.
