Marie-Laure Welter, MD, PhD, HDR, is a neurologist in charge of the deep brain stimulation program in the Pitié-Salpêtrire Hospital for patients with movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor or dystonia. Her research program is devoted to the understanding of the pathophysiology of these complex movement disorders to identify new therapeutic targets, especially in the field of functional neurosurgery and gait and balance disorders, with a combined clinical and electrophysiological approach.
