Prof. Per Svenningsson became a medical doctor in 1996 and completed his PhD in Neuropharmacology at Karolinska Institutet in 1998. From 1999 to 2003 he was a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of the Nobel laureate Prof Paul Greengard at Rockefeller University, New York. In 2002, he had the merits to be Docent at Karolinska Institute. He became a board-licensed Neurologist in 2010 and a Professor of Neurology in 2012 at Karolinska Institutet/Karolinska University Hospital. Prof. Svenningsson´s current research is centered on the development of biomarkers and novel therapies for Parkinson´s disease and related disorders.
