“Stay Cool. Do the good stuff, ditch the rest”.
That is the philosophy of a new clothing and lifestyle accessories company that has committed to donate at least 5% of net profits from all sales to Team Fox. Stay Company, which is launching its new brand today, was inspired by founder James Collie’s father, who lived with Parkinson’s for over 20 years.
“My father would send me these little notes in college, and he would always end them with ‘Stay cool’. He was the most positive person I knew, despite the challenges he faced with Parkinson’s,” James recalls. “He was contagiously laid-back. It was impossible to be worried around my father, since it seemed he had so much to worry about and yet never did. His attitude taught me a lot, and it’s still something I aspire to today. I started this company because I wanted to share that and honor him.”
As long-time supporters of MJFF, James and his wife Meg realized that they could use Stay Company as a vehicle to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation. “We are so excited to work with Team Fox to support the Foundation’s critical work,” says James.
Stay Company describes itself as a company that makes “wearable philosophy”. As the company’s mission statement says,
“At Stay Company we believe in a simple philosophy – that life is an adventure and how we approach it makes all the difference. We think that life is better when we actively focus on the things that make life work better, stop doing those things that make life more difficult, and always remember that no matter what happens, our response defines our experience. In other words, Do the good stuff, Ditch the rest, and always Stay Cool.
Our mission is simple too – to create clothes and other cool stuff that reflect our philosophy and to share our profits to help make life better for people who face challenges every day. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.”
