Breeders' Cup Hopeful Could Mean $50,000 for Team Fox

Breeders' Cup Hopeful Could Mean $50,000 for Team Fox

As horse racing fans turn their attention to the upcoming Breeders’ Cup, we here at Team Fox are excitedly keeping our eyes on Living the Life, a young filly from HnR Nothhaft Racing, LLC whose win could mean up to $50,000 for Parkinson’s research!

When Henry “Hank” Nothhaft retired after a very successful career in Silicon Valley, he didn’t want to just sit around.  After exploring the competitive, data-driven field of horse racing and breeding, the lifelong entrepreneur knew he had found his next passion. It wasn’t long before HnR Nothhaft Racing, LLC was born.

As Hank prepares for his first Breeders’ Cup appearance with Living the Life, his investment in a first place finish goes well beyond the personal achievement. Inspired by his son Ryan, who will run the TCS NYC Marathon with Team Fox just days after the Cup in honor of his father-in-law, Hank has decided to donate a portion of the race’s prize purse to MJFF. Even more special, this win would also be in support of Carl and Phil McEntee—Living the Life’s former agent and trainer—whose mother has lived with Parkinson’s for about six years. “With all the good fortune I’ve experienced with Living the Life,” says Nothhaft, “I decided I wanted to give something back.  A conversation with Ryan was the catalyst to choose The Michael J. Fox Foundation.”

The filly will run on Saturday, November 1 at 1:15pm Pacific in a race with a $1 million purse.  A first place win would mean a $50,000 donation to Team Fox, but Hank has generously pledged a $10,000 donation regardless of her finish.

Catch the Breeders' Cup on Friday October 31 and Saturday November 1 on NBC Sports and join Team Fox in cheering Living the Life through the finish!
