In Case You Missed It: Tax Break for Charitable Donations Made from IRAs

Congress just passed a last-minute tax break on charitable donations from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) for those over 70½. If you have an IRA, you may be eligible to make a gift directly to MJFF, without incurring tax consequences.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be age 70½ or older
  • Give up to $100,000 from your IRA by December 31, 2014
  • Transfer funds directly from an IRA
  • Transfer the gift outright to MJFF

With just a few days left in 2014, consider the role you can play in progress toward a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Remember, at MJFF 89 cents of every dollar you give goes directly to high-impact research, bringing improved therapies closer to patients’ hands.
