New York Yankee Legends to Support Team Fox on Father’s Day

New York Yankee Legends to Support Team Fox on Father’s Day

On Sunday June 21 (Father’s Day) the Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate baseball team for the NY Yankees, will host its first NY Yankee Legend’s Game at the PNC Field in Moosic, PA. While the day promises to be the perfect opportunity to watch your favorite Yankee heroes take the field again, for the organizers, it’s also about supporting one of their own.

Former Yankee and member of the 1978 World Series championship team, Brian Doyle, has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. To raise money for Parkinson’s research in Brian’s honor, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are donating a portion of proceeds from the game as well as a portion of the funds raised through online auctions.

“The Yankee family is a close knit one,” says David Abrams, Co-Managing Owner. “When we found out about Brian’s diagnosis, we wanted to help in any way possible. We are impressed by the mission and efforts of Team Fox and The Michael J. Fox Foundation. We know the money raised from the Yankee Legend’s game will be in good hands.”

Fans can support the event by simply attending the game or donating to the Team Fox page.

This unique event promises an fun-filled day featuring over 30 former Yankees, including players like Tommy John, Charlie Hayes, Gene Michaels, Bucky Dent, and more! Come celebrate with Dad or the whole family and stay for the post-game Father’s Day BBQ feast!
