Missy Spangler is a force to be reckoned with.  After joining Team Fox in 2012 to run the NYC Marathon, she has since found herself in Vancouver, back in New York and even in the middle of the Grand Canyon to partake in a variety of different Team Fox athletic events.  Each new challenge has given Missy the opportunity to fundraise in honor of her late father who battled Parkinson’s and who was the inspiration for Missy’s involvement in athletics.

As the captain of Team Spangler, Missy is also the driving force behind Sunday Funday – a 5K Race and Walk taking place for the second year on Sunday, October 5 in her hometown of Pennsboro, West Virginia.  “Dad loved to run. He was a cross country coach for many of us for years, so the connection of running was important to me,” Missy shares, explaining the inspiration behind hosting a 5K.  The event, which also consists of a virtual 5K for those who want to participate from afar, hopes to have over 200 participants this year.
