Stuart Lipton, MD, PhD

Dr. Lipton completed an MD degree at the University of Pennsylvania and PhD thesis research at Harvard. He was a postdoctoral fellow under Professor Torsten Wiesel when Wiesel won the Nobel prize. Dr. Lipton then served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for 25 years prior to being recruited as Professor and Scientific Director of the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. He is also professor at Salk, Scripps and UC San Diego, and Program Director of the NIEHS/NIH-designated La Jolla-wide Parkinson’s Disease Center and NIH Blueprint Neuroscience Center Core Grant.
