Dr. Jason Richardson, PhD, MS, DABT, was trained in pharmacology, toxicology and neuroscience at Northeast Louisiana University, Mississippi State University and Emory University. He is currently professor of pharmaceutical sciences, acting associate dean of research for the College of Pharmacy and the founding director of a university-wide research focus area in neurodegenerative disease and aging at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Dr. Richardson serves on several editorial boards, is an associate editor for Neurotoxicology and was previously an associate editor for BMC Neurology. He has served as a reviewer and chair for several National Institutes of Health panels, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research, Health Canada and the United Kingdom Parkinson's Disease Society. He is currently serving his second term as chair of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Standing Review Panel.
Dr. Richardson received the Outstanding New Environmental Scientist Award from NIEHS and was the inaugural recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the Toxicology Division of ASPET. He will receive the Society of Toxicology Achievement Award in 2017. Research in his laboratory currently focuses on gene-environment interactions in neurodegeneration, biomarker development and the role of neuroinflammation in Parkinson's disease.
