Dr. Simon Lewis is a Consultant Neurologist and Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sydney. He is the Director of the Parkinson's Disease Research Clinic at the Brain & Mind Centre and heads the NSW Movement Disorders Brain Donor program. Prof Simon Lewis published over 250 peer review papers, 2 books and 8 book chapters and has attracted over $10 Million in funding from various sources including the NHMRC, ARC and The Michael J. Fox Foundation to support his research interests targeting Dementia and Parkinson’s. In 2014, he was awarded the Leonard Cox Award by the Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists for achievements of an early career neurologist who has already made a significant contribution to neuroscience.

In addition to his basic science research, Prof Simon Lewis led the nationwide 'DASH to the InfoLine' campaign aiming to raise awareness and reduce stigma in PD. This program delivered a series of GP education seminars across NSW and the ACT, an online video lecture resource for health professionals and the publication of 30,000 information booklets for people living with PD, which underwent translation into Chinese. He headed the first trial to evaluate community-based Parkinson's nurse specialists in Australia.  More recently, Prof Simon Lewis has become the Clinical Lead for the Australian Parkinson’s Mission, which with an MRFF grant of $30M from 2020-24 will establish a nationwide program of disease modifying trials.
